Job Description

A general contractor who's primary focus is hotel and commercial construction is looking for a highly motivated, energetic and experienced site supervisor to join their team and grow within the company. This individual will have to overlook projects from start to finish in the GTA.

Requirements:

-Implement construction human resource objectives by training, coaching, disciplining employees, communicating job expectations, appraising job contributions, planning, scheduling, monitoring, and recommending compensation actions.

-Ensure all staff / subcontractors / trades adhere to the company’s policies and procedures on site.

-Manage subcontractors by locating, selecting, evaluating, and closely monitoring their performance.

-Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews.

-Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards. -Resolve problems and make improvements to the construction management system.

-Meet the construction budget by monitoring project expenditures, identifying variances, implementing corrective actions, providing non-project annual operating and capital budget information.

-Deliver successful project results by defining project purpose and scope, calculating resources required, establishing standards and protocols, allocating resources, scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors, evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions, resolving design problems, and evaluating/processing change orders.

-Approve construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases and obtaining approvals from buyers. -Prevent fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing codes.

-Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by complying with legal regulations and enforcing the company's standards and procedures.

-Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.

-Enhance the company's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests as well as exploring opportunities to add value to projects and the company.

Qualifications:

-Minimum 5 years of construction supervisory onsite experience.

-Minimum 3 years of commercial supervisory onsite experience.

-Must have a vehicle for travel between job sites.

-Must have a valid driver's license.

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

-Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

-Hotel/Multi-Unit renovation experience (asset)

-Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering/Construction related discipline (asset)
