This is a eight month work term beginning in May 2020.What you will do: Support the management of change process by assisting with process design and documentationProvide process engineering support to complete recommendations from process hazard analysisAssist senior specialists in detailed technical evaluations such as catalyst, heat exchanger and compressor performance Provide process engineering support to capital project development and design Complete level appropriate engineering studies, calculations, and/or modeling and simulation of chemical processes Provide technical support to automated process monitoring applicationsCollect data and develop an electronic process information databaseWork under the direction of a licensed professional engineer who will take responsibility for the work productsCompletes basic technical reports/analysis/ transactions, by applying subject matter knowledge related to a Chemical or Process engineering typical of a professional engineerDuties are anticipated to require some field time in an operating unit, and at times will required some climbing stairs, ladders and walking through plant operating areasTravel, if required will likely be by car to various sites in AlbertaWhat you will bring:Engineering co-op student pursuing a degree in chemical engineering. Preference is for work terms 4 and 5Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving, and organizational skillsAbility to climb stairs and ladders, sit for long periods of time, and perform many job duties remotely using phone and emailAbility to provide creative and well thought out solutions to chemical/process engineering challenges, as assignedAbility to organize, coordinate and accomplish multiple tasksKnowledge in P&ID use and interpretation, piping flow and hydraulic calculations, pressure relief valve codes and standards, control valve design and simple instrumentation and control loop basics is an assetExperience working with API Pressure Relief standards is an assetKnowledge of pipe sizing and experience with piping design is an assetAre you a good match?
