Job Summary

The Skilled CNC Machine Operator is responsible for completing tasks as assigned by Machine Lead Hand and ensuring that all products produced meet customer needs and quality requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and troubleshoot CNC programs
  • Proving out of CNC programs
  • Run machine(s) as required by the production schedule without assistance
  • Change tooling as required
  • Change inserts and adjust offsets as necessary
  • Perform daily maintenance on machine(s)
  • Perform daily cleaning of work cell
  • Work with Quality to ensure parts meet drawing requirements
  • Participate in Root Cause and Corrective Actions as required
  • Work with Machine Lead Hand to develop PDP and execute
  • All other reasonable tasks as assigned by members of Management


  • High school certificate; training in the apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2-10 years of experience
  • Good training and leadership skills
  • Basic understanding of manual inspection and blue print reading
  • Full knowledge of CNC controls
  • Understanding of tooling required
  • Understanding of different materials and cutting speeds and feed
  • Ability to operate production machines
  • Ability to complete first off inspection prior to submission of part to Quality for official first off
  • Ability to set up measuring equipment
  • Ability to react to fast changing priorities
  • Must be able to check and record dimensional changes to the components
  • Responsible to complete in process inspection reports and shop order paperwork
  • Comfortable with written and verbal communication in english

Physical requirements/Work Environment

  • Required to lift over 30 lbs. occasionally
  • Noisy work environment
