This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.Reporting to the Program Manager, Health Platforms.There will be peak periods during the year that are stressful due to overlapping deadlines and shifting priorities.Position DescriptionSummary of Key Responsibilities(job functions include but are not limited to):IT Process Management and AdministrativeEnsure IT application development process disciplines (solution delivery, project management, work request, QA, technical account management, etc.) and standards are established, effectively managed and performedResponsible for elevating the level of proactive communication and thought process of the existing and future technological resources and needsDefine and maintain metrics and KPIs in the IT strategy to show progress against the IT strategyDrive the business in adopting consistent practices while minimizing disruptionsDevelop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans, procedures, audits and other process improvementDefine, prioritize, allocate resources, track and provided status reporting of work assignments, projectsLeads vendor selection process, and manages ongoing relationships and deliverablesCommunication and CollaborationEnsure alignment of technology roadmaps with appropriate processes, skills and toolsEffectively manage key relationships with IT partners and suppliers and develop new ones as appropriate to maintain the required development capability to deliver CRU servicesWork with internal team members in driving technical and security solutions for CRU servicesWork with stakeholders and users to survey and analyze the requirements for systems and processes to meet business needsManage multiple priorities with dynamic deadlines by having excellent priority setting skills and the initiative to undertake tasks to facilitate future efficienciesMaintain and internal wiki and documentation, manuals, and system administrative related policiesTechnical Knowledge and AbilityMonitor the performance of production systems, diagnose and solve detected performance problemsHelp tune performance and ensure high availability of infrastructureHelp implementing control processes to prevent interruptions of servicesTake part in the process of improvement of CRU system architecture and conception of new and innovative solutions for our production environmentsMonitor backup operations and their availabilityMaintain the documentation of infrastructure and systems configurationDevelop and maintain supporting utilities and applications to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of systems operationConduct performance monitoring and tuning, space management, quality assurance and disaster recovery planning to ensure the systems are secure and reliableContinuous Improvement and Knowledge ManagementContribute to CRU objectives of enhancing value brought to customers, service offerings, unit expertise and delivery processIdentify opportunities for enhancement and improvement of internal processesLearn and become expert in all CRU services and platformsDelivery/SupportAccountable for identifying needs, securing commitments and monitoring progress of deliverable from internal and external service providersAccountable for ensuring technological solutions comply with architectural standardsQualifications / Requirements:A Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in system administration, computer science, computer engineering or IT related field3-5 years of experience in managing information systemsSignificant experience administering Linux and Windows servers (Red Hat, Ubuntu, Windows Server)Ability to build and monitor services on test- and production serversAbility to work on virtual environments and virtual machinesExperience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache, IIS, Nginx, MSSQL, open-source tools and applications, GitHub applications, pluginsA solid understanding of deployment pipelines and pre- and post-testingA solid understanding of networking (routing concepts, traffic shaping, port forwarding, reverse proxies, protocols, tunneling, configuring and securing a network)Proficiency of administering Cloud Based environments (preferred AWS EC2, S3, RDS, key management, spotlight, VPCs)Proficiency of administering container services for production use (Docker, Kubernetes)Proficiency of deploying and maintaining high availability solutionsExperience with deploying using GitHub and Docker Cloud servicesExperience with version control management systemsExperience or understanding of implementing and administering Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery strategies (multi-sites, failover & redundancy, backup processes, master slave solutions, warm or hot standby)Basic knowledge of authentication and identity management: LDAP, A/D, OAuth, Multi-Factor Authentication solutionExperience with Network Area Storage and scheduled backup tasksExperience with backup-and-restore procedures and protocolsWorking with services like SendGrid, Twilio, hosting and email configuration, DNSTrained in database administration (MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL)Advanced knowledge of scripting within a Linux environment (Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby,
