The Burnaby Hospital Renewal Project is a multi-year, multi-phase project with an initial focus on a new inpatient/outpatient tower, and support facilities building expansion and renovation. This project is complex and will be comprised of new construction, demolition, renovations and various upgrades. Upon completion, the Burnaby campus will have two new patient care towers, an expanded emergency department, a new cancer treatment centre, and ultimately increase its acute care beds from 259 to 400.

Position Highlights

Looking for an opportunity to showcase your clinical planning skills? If innovation and creative problem solving intrigues you, then this role is what you have been looking for. As the Clinical Planner, you will facilitate the submission and approval of capital work and various strategic initiatives by leading and preparing aspects of clinical planning for project proposals. You will work with the project planning team to ensure alignment of current, and emerging clinical requirements.

Your work will include the following:

•Coordinating the master planning of clinical initiatives by consulting with clinical/research/academic programs •Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop documents such as project charters, business cases, and functional programming •Assessing the clinical requirements of the user groups by reviewing clinical benchmarks, research, and standard methodologies •Facilitating the approval of assigned clinical and strategic initiatives •Coordinating and providing work direction to the project team to ensure assigned project activities and cost targets are followed •Working in user groups to complete assigned tasks to meet target dates and identify clinical issues or deviations from approved plans •Working with the Clinical Transformation team to facilitate clinical scope and practice changes to ensure the alignment of clinical planning •Assisting in the development of construction phase activities including coordination of departmental moves and temporary operations during construction

Are you motivated to join our team? We will be looking for you to have:

•A Bachelor’s Degree in a clinical health science discipline •Five (5) years’ recent related clinical experience which will include, two (2) years’ experience in a health care leadership role responsible for clinical planning of health care facilities or project management
