Supervises 4 Second Class Operating Engineers. Maintenance Manager – Develops and oversees all Preventative Maintenance activities, troubleshooting, plant modifications including engineering, and H&S projects. Supervises electricians, millwrights and outside contractors. Actively involved in building modifications, machine modifications and production setup.Ensure safe and efficient operation of boilers and pressure vessels. Ensure operations achieve highest efficiency and quality possible through support of capital planning, systems controls, general engineering, project management and overall maintenance. Provide engineering expertise to introduce new equipment and systems to enhance operations.Review new product initiatives and determine best method for production and equipment needed; purchase equipment at best price and oversee installation and startup and provide ongoing engineering expertise to maximize output and minimize downtime.Meet and exceed customer expectations through management of the Engineering and Maintenance department to achieve 95% operational uptime in support of delivering product to the customer that meet quality standardsand delivered on time and within budget. Support operations in improving processes and equipment reliability.Lead the Engineering and Maintenance department in a manner consistent with the culture of the company. Ensure employees are treated fairly and with respect. Create a team environment where all employees are encouraged to make a difference in meeting and exceeding customer expectations. Lead site Planned Maintenance Pillar and provide support to Autonomous Maintenance.Ensure that direct reports work safely at times. Owns the following elements of the the Collingwood site safety program: Asbestos control and abatement, Confined Space Entry, Contractor Safety, Fall Protection, Hot Work, Grounding and Bonding, Aboveground storage, LOTO, Machine Guarding. Member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.Obtain and keep current all pressure vessel and operator certificates.Consult with operations team on cost savings projects applying engineering expertise to recommend new methodologies and equipment to ensure production efficiency, maximize output and prevent downtime without sacrificing quality.Develop and maintain a progression plan for all maintenance employees to increase their technical skills.Actively participate in the TPM continuous improvement program.
