Category : ManufacturingLocation/City : ON Hamilton Chemical Process OperatorOur client in Hamilton is a reputed environmental solution provider in the agri food industry, is looking for a Chemical Processor Operator who can be responsible of all grease processing equipment at Hamilton location to join their team.JOB DESCRIPTIONResponsibilities: Moving product to hot tanks and monitoring the heating time Identifying the location of where the hot grease will be transferred and creating a Decanting sheet to record the process. Monitoring the decanting time for all tanks and evaluating the product in the taps to confirm the optimal decanting time. Sample and test the decanted grease to evaluate FFA, moisture and impurities. If filtering is required, then process product through filter press. Record test data on the decanting sheet. Decanting tanks efficiently to ensure west products are removed to the appropriate storage location. Accurately measuring and reporting the yield of grease and west products in the decanting sheet. The Process Operator is 100% responsible for respecting the key/critical process parameters to ensure the best possible yield. Reporting inventory of grease production and emulsion into the AX system. Conducting daily physical inventory for raw material, WIP and finished product. Loading wastes water loads to the digester and maximizing the shipping volumes when possible. Conduct daily boiler checks and record in log book. Maintain housekeeping in boiler room. Maintaining inventory of boiler chemical and advising when order is required. Monitoring volumes and planning shipping schedule for grease, emulsion and waste water products. Conducting daily end of day shutdown to ensure save and proper closure of steam valves, control valves, pumps, and boiler blow down.Planning/ Shift Supervision: Provide leadership on shift and coordinate with all departments. Plan, analyze and schedule the outgoing product. Make decisions regarding timing of processes to ensure constant flow of grease production. Interface daily with appropriate internal department/employees to ensure materials coming in and out balance the work flow also includes documenting and deviations.Main Operations: Boiler operation includes operation on two steam boilers, start up shutdown of boiler and maintenance of boiler logbooks. Decanting operation and pumping product to shipping tanks includes separation of grease by draining off wastewater. Quality testing of decanted grease to evaluate the equipment for filtering. Maintaining all paperwork and documentation involved in decanting process. Monitoring wastewater levels and loading wastewater tankers to appropriate volumes. General housekeeping for center bay including sweeping, soap foaming and pressure washing.Key Qualifications & Competencies: Secondary school diploma Proven technical knowledge Physical ability to climb up and down a flight of 40 stairs Flexible and able to deal with change Excellent organizational and communication skills.
