We currently have an exciting opportunity for Maintenance Electrician based out of our Barrie, ON Plant. Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing injection molding machine control systems as well as other miscellaneous equipment. Comply with established safety and housekeeping procedures PRIMARY DUTIES Repair production/building equipment as required Perform electrical preventative maintenance duties as per schedule Maintain electrical systems and lighting Prepare minor mechanical repairs Implement improvements and/or modifications to existing equipment. Comply with company safety rules and OHSA regulations Preventative maintenance and troubleshoot VFD, Servo Drive and Servo motors Troubleshoot Hydraulic Valves Install and modify high and low voltage electrical circuits as required Responsible for following and carrying out HWIN Waste Manifest Procedure Follow lock out and tag out procedures and guidelines Perform other duties as assigned MACHINERY/EQUIPMENT USED Craneways, scissor lift, forklift, injection molding machines, power tools, pneumatic tools, machine shop equipment, welders, cutting torches and other miscellaneous equipment Personal protective equipment WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS Non climate-controlled production plant environment Standing, walking, kneeling, squatting and bending on concrete floor/equipment Lifting – light to heavy (up to 85 lbs.) Noise range from 75 to 96 D.B.A Mandatory Hearing Protection Provided Odours – occasional PVC blowouts Climbing heights in excess of 10′ Working in confined areas as needed (not confined spaces) May perform work in outside temperatures QUALIFICATIONS 442A OR 309A license required 2 or more years experience with electrical industrial maintenance Basic mechanical maintenance abilities (motor changes, hydraulic, pneumatic) Strong troubleshooting, repairing and maintenance on machinery skills Must be willing to learn and be developed Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics Good Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting Experience with Sigmateck, Bechoff, Allen Bradley and HPM Command 9000 PLCs is an asset Able to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision Experience in the plastics manufacturing industry is preferred Able to work at heights using ladders and scissor lifts Must have own tools Canplas Industries Ltd is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and, upon request, will work with qualified job applicants to provide suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicants accessibility needs due to disability.
