Join us!Job The Technical Training Officer, Engineering, Track is responsible for training Engineering employees in Track New Hire Programs, Track Inspection Guidelines, Movement Over Rail Breaks, Continuous Welded Rail, Assistant Track Supervisor (ATS) Training Programs, and Engineering Rules training (both induction and recertification). The incumbent is required to train, mentor, coach and qualify employees on various techniques related to track construction, maintenance, and inspection. The role maintains facility equipment, job aids and scheduled maintenance records.Main Training DeliveryAct as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the creation and update of training materialsProvide training to employees through classroom instruction, hands-on demonstrations and training exercisesMaintain an understanding of how to practically apply skills related to track construction, maintenance, and inspectionMaintain an understanding of how to practically apply the Canadian Rail Operating Rules and General Engineering Instructions as they relate to Engineering employees and track protectionFoster a culture of Safety Leadership to ensure the safety of all employees, operations, and the publicEvaluate trainees’ ability to demonstrate tasks proficiencyAdminister and grade examsComplete performance and qualifying documents and ensure all training events are captured in the Learning Management System (LMS)Carry out other Engineering-related training as neededMaintain and Upgrade Facility EquipmentAssess functionality of tools and equipment for hands-on training components prior to trainingRepair all malfunctioning tools and equipmentDevelop Comprehensive Training PlanCollaborate with Managers and Senior Managers to determine and identify functional training needsDevelop training delivery planEstablish training delivery schedule designed to meet training needsWorking ConditionsThe role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The incumbent must be available to work night shifts and weekends when necessary. The role requires minimal travel (25%) to carry out field training and quality audits.
