The Business Analyst I assists in the timely identification of solutions to business related issues through the analysis of systems and processes. The person in this position must demonstrate an understranding of technology and its applications to the business by maintaining an awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies. The candidate participates in the design, testing and implementation of new systems and existing system enhancements as well as the resolution of production issues.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesFunction as a representative of the end user to ensure software usability for the target audience.Collaborate with the Web Applications Team to develop user requirements.Actively participate and collaborate in the planning of projects, product enhancements, as well as maintenance releases, bug review, and emergency changes for existing products.Develop and execute formal requirements documentation to ensure the development of quality software applications.Resolve issues through strong analytical and problem solving skills; approach solutions from multiple perspectives.Develop and maintain documentation and procedures for installing, maintaining, testing, and monitoring the applications.Perform administrative functions such as user account addition/configuration/deletion, and password resets.Where applicable, provide client training on new software solutions.Actively participate in the resolution of defects while effectively reporting status and results to stakeholders.Understand how and why clients use the application.Become a subject matter expert on application features/functionality.Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises.Organize and schedule regular work while being able to accommodate emergency situations that may arise.RequirementsBachelors Degree with 1 to 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst (CBAP an asset) or equivalent related business experience.Knowledge of process and data modeling.Knowledge of the insurance industry or related service industry experience.Proven application of structured approaches to analysis and synthesis of information.Very Good verbal and written communication skills (French and English)Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Jira, SQL, XML, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Sharepoint and Infopath.We Offer:An extensive benefit package that includes health, dental, life and travel insurance, as well as a retirement savings plan;Paid training and the opportunity for professional development, including an Education Assistance Program;Growth and advancement opportunities;Work life balance;2 weeks paid vacationMany health and wellness initiatives;Employee engagement programs that focus on fitness, food and fun.
