Our innovative, cloud-based accounting software allows us to deliver a full suite of outsourced services to our clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, financial reporting and payroll administration.Performance ExpectationsWork with the Cloud Accounting Services team to execute full cycle bookkeeping and payroll functions for MNP clients Work with cloud accounting software, including QuickBooks Online (QBO), Xero and other cloud-based applicationsIdentify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, discuss with supervisor or engagement partner and develop resolutionsPrepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings, recording of sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, payroll and Workers” Compensation Board (WCB) transactions according to deadlinesSet up client files and assist with the completion of budgets, administrative planning and other aspects of accounting workMaintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts, including but not limited to cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities and intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploadsCommunicate with governments regarding information requests, assessments and installmentsDevelop and maintain relationships with clients and team membersProvide training for clients on best practices and applicable software packagesWork independently and foster trust with team and clients in a remote work environmentDevelop an understanding of MNP”s services, businesses and industryContribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processesRaise awareness of MNP at community eventsAttend internal MNP courses to further develop cloud accounting knowledgeCredentialsMinimum 1 year of full cycle bookkeeping experienceUnderstand and able to administer full cycle accounting in a fast-paced environmentExperience working with, or exposure to, accounting software such as QBO and/or Xero is preferredPassion for technology; strong computer literacy including advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and video chat platformsQBO Basic, QBO Advance, Xero Certified and other application certifications are an assetBasic knowledge of trial balances, general ledger (GL) databases, financial statement close processes and accounting mattersBasic knowledge of corporate tax is preferredUnderstanding of payroll, bookkeeping and record keeping practices on manual and computerized system(s)Completion of a certificate or diploma in business or accounting is an assetCore Competencies and Personal CharacteristicsIntegrity – professional whose honesty, integrity, confidentiality and high ethical standards contributes to effective leadership and optimal business relationshipsCommunication – effectively expresses ideas and conveys information in business writing, conversations and interactions with othersClient Service Excellence – understands the importance of quality client service by being courteous, responding to client requests in a timely manner and monitoring satisfactionTeamwork & Relationship Development – works collaboratively with team members in order to achieve a common goal and develops, maintains and strengthens relationships with others, both inside and outside the FirmFlexibility – effectively manages multiple assignments, adapts to changing priorities and is able to work independently or as part of a teamTechnical Expertise – demonstrates in-depth professional and technical knowledge when completing tasksWillingness to Learn – enthusiastic and eager to meet challenges and assimilate new conceptsInitiative – highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision Accuracy – pays close attention to detail and ensures work and information are complete and thoroughResearch & Analysis – questions inconsistencies in information and generates workable solutions by analyzing, gathering and organizing relevant informationFostering Innovation – develops, sponsors, and/or supports the introduction of new and improved methods, products, procedures and technologiesMore than a paycheque, MNP delivers.
