A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides direct patient care under the direction of physicians, registered nurses, or other health care providers. These activities could include:COVID screening prior to patients entering the clinic; assistance with vaccinations; conducting patient history and physical assessments; performing selected diagnostic and therapeutic interventions; andcounseling patients on preventive health care. A LPN or a RPN provides services to patients on a walk-in and appointment basis in various primary and ambulatory care settings such as the Care Delivery Unit (CDU), treatment room, and specialty clinic. This is a short term contract to help with COVID vaccinations of CF Personnel. Language of work may be in English and/or French, bilingual is preferred. Job QualificationEducation All LPNs and RPNs must, as a minimum, have:a. graduated from a Practical Nursing Program approved by Council of the College of Nurses; b. a licence fromthe provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practice; andc. a Certificate of Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) Level C. Experience The LPN or RPN shall possess, as a minimum, 1 full time equivalent year of experience within the last 3 years in nursing practice conducting patient assessment and providing direct nursing care for a broad range of diseases in the adult population in a primary care or ambulatory care setting. Other Skills and Abilities:Current N95 mask fit certificate CSA Standards Z94.4 (testing q 2 yrs)Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) Certification (every two (2) years)
