At Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd., we are committed to fostering a culture that understands and values inclusion and diversity.The : Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for Blasters to join our team underground at the Red Chris Mine, in northern British Columbia.This position works 14-days on / 14-days off.Shifts are days and nights.This is a FIFO role.Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for their safety and the safety of their co-workers while handling and transporting explosive materials for development blasting.More specifically, our Blasters will:Use a variety of explosives and initiating systems, depending on the drill pattern, rock type and hole dimensionHandle and transport explosive material in a safe manner according to procedures, regulations and legislationCharge lateral development with low impact explosives or emulsionEnsure working area is safe for personnel and equipment to perform duties, including but not limited to, check scaling or rehabilitation, ensuring lanyards are in good order and used when requiredEnsure correct explosives quantity accounting carried outConduct blast re-entry procedures Skills and Experience:Minimum high school diploma or equivalencyDemonstrated commitment to working safely while ensuring the safety of othersMinimum 5 years- experience in underground miningMinimum 3 years- experience in a Blaster role undergroundCurrent Blasters Ticket in British ColumbiaWorking at Heights CertificateStrong organizational, planning and time management skillsBe reliable and dependableAbility to work in a cross-cultural environmentWhat we offer: Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. can offer you a role where you will be challenged and valued for your skills and experience.
