Overview:
As an Application Development Analyst, you will be responsible for various aspects of the REDCap service including: developing in-depth understanding of the available features and modules; train/support research study staff in the use and functions of the application. Additionally, provide development support for some applications.
Qualifications:
At minimum, completion of a 3-year community College program in a Computer, Math related field or recognized equivalent is required.
2+ years of relevant experience with software development, clinical or academic environment.
Required Experience:
Good knowledge of an EDC system such as REDCap (preferred), Medidata, Oracle Clinical, Phase Forward or another widely deployed research EDC system.
Support development of custom applications involving use of REDCap. This may include programming plugins and/or Application Programming Interface (API) calls.
Assist with testing monthly REDCap upgrades on test server.
Familiarity Linux VMs and OCI-compliant container runtimes.
Knowledge of clinical research concepts, standards (GCP), and processes (SOPs, consent) preferred.
Ability to identify, triage, action plan, and resolve or escalate issues: developing flexible solutions and solving issues that meet evolving requirements.
Some development experience in PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, XML would be nice.
Knowledge of relational database structures and structured query language (SQL) a plus.
Nice to have experience in Kubernetes
Knowledge of Ontario PHIPA and privacy laws in other jurisdictions
Good to have knowledge of best practices for securely storing and transmitting PHI
Validating systems to meet clinical trial regulatory requirements for Health Canada, US FDA 21 CFR Part 11
Familiar with Biostatistics and Statistical Programming (i.e. R, SAS, Python, etc.)
Excellent organization and prioritization skills, demonstrated by the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong technical skills including knowledge of software development processes.
Ability to deeply understand application functions and technical documentation required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing and presentations.
Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
