Analog Mixed Signal CAD Engineer The Role In this position you will be an integral part of the hardware design process. The candidate will be responsible for developing better ways of creating AMD’s next generation of ASICs. You will use your combined hardware/software background to help create common software flows used by all AMD custom IP component designers. Our Best in Class CAD flow solutions encompass the IP development process but also requires verification techniques to ensure IP model kits support a robust circuit design environment. The Person You should be knowledgeable in transistor level circuits and layout and passionate about automationspecifically targeted towards circuit construction and analysis. Key Responsibilities Support and maintain AMDs transistor level Static Timing Analysis (STA) tool suite. Support and maintain AMDs EM, IR, Thermal and FIT tool suites. Lead EDA tool evaluations, present findings, release tools and train users on new methods. Build custom tool solutions to complement existing EDA tool capabilities. Work closely with macro component IP designers to debug tool flows for complex IP. Understand Analog design methods and collaborate with macro component designers to adjust work flows which enhance IP development quality and efficiency. Improve and promote communication, teamwork, problem solving, mentoring and training. Preferred Experience Looking for candidates who have strong hardware and software skills. This includes the ability to develop well-structured and maintainable software. A deep understanding of Flip Flop digital and analog behavior and a love of learning are strong assets. Understands code verification and recognizes the need of through testing. Experience in UNIX, Verilog (or VHDL), C/C , Skill, an understanding of analog concepts, including hspice, are assets. Academic Credentials Preferred Bachelors or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering or related.
