We currently have a temporary full time (until approx. April
2019) for an Administrative Assistant in our Inpatient Oncology unit at our Bayview campus.
The Administrative Assistant will provide support to the PCMs in the Inpatient Oncology Program. The successful candidate will co-ordinate day-to-day activities, liaise with the inter-professional team, work on special projects and conferences, schedule meetings and candidates for interviews, draft brochures and posters, take minutes, collate patient statistics, maintain account disbursements and financial processing. The role also entails the ordering of office supplies, equipment and food for special events, in addition to errands and other ad hoc duties.
Administrative Assistant/Office Management Program at the College level or an undergraduate degree
Must have 1 – 2 years’ experience in an administrative assistant or similar role
Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must be proficient in written and oral communication skills to support our requirement to read, edit and compose correspondence
Must be organized in approaching work tasks and able to prioritize effectively
Must be very adept at exercising tact and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive and highly confidential issues
Must be able to demonstrate flexibility and act independently using sound judgment when taking initiative on a wide range of issues
Ability to recognize when direction is needed when there are competing demands, including time sensitive requests
Good problem-solving skills and an ability to work as a team member on projects
Keyboarding at 60 w.p.m. with maximum 5% error rate
