This role sits within LBC Tech, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.
The incumbent is responsible for the analysis and reconciliation of a number of line of products. This includes daily balance sheet reconciliation of the internal platform and ensuring the previous day’s work by various Operations teams and Settlement teams are properly accounted for.
º Reconciles daily the suspense/internal accounts related to a number of line of products.
º Investigates without delay any irregularities or variances.
º Communicates and collaborates with various Operations teams and/or Settlement teams to process changes to clear outstanding items.
º Prepares reclass and adjusting journal entries when required.
º Creates and updates procedures and policies.
º Assists in the preparation of Quarterly Folder for Certification Letter sign off.
º Provides support on internal and external audits.
º Monitors the group mailbox and responds to requests and inquiries in a timely manner.
º Supports the sorting and daily distribution of mail.
º Maintains good working relationships with internal and external clients to better achieve the department’s objectives.
º Escalates and makes recommendations to the appropriate authority about any inquiries or issues that are beyond their scope.
º Verifies own work for accuracy, clarity, and completeness, and ensures compliance with internal and external audit and regulatory requirements.
º Completes daily workload within strict timeframes and addresses any issues with supervisor.
º Submits recommendations to improve work processes to the supervisor.
º Keeps abreast of legislation, policies, and procedures, which relate to products and services.
º University Degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience in a similar environment; or, College Diploma and 3 to 5 years of related experience in a similar environment.
º Bilingual (French) verbal and written communication skills are assets.
º Enrolled in a professional accounting designation program is a strong asset.
º Solid knowledge of banking, mortgage, investment loan, self-directed, securities, and other lending products.
º Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
º Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to communicate effectively with multiple partners across the Bank.
º Able to work in a high volume environment with tight deadlines.
º Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
º Highly motivated with a desire to succeed and progress.
º Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team.
º Must possess intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and Outlook.
º Experience with MS Access an asset.
º Familiarity with using large and complex financial database systems; ability to learn inquiry functions in back office processing systems such as SIBL, T24 and CPS are assets.
º Demonstrated ability in core and role specific competencies including teamwork, adaptability, customer service, innovation, and detail orientation.
