This position requires a high degree of cross-department and cross-business unit interaction. The Corporate Accounting department operates with a significant number of deadlines and reporting obligations and as such, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities. This position is a 12-month contract.What you will do:Preparation of the monthly and quarterly accounting and reporting for our defined contribution pension, defined benefit pension and post-retirement benefits plans Provide complex accounting support for curtailments and amendments of Defined Benefit Pension plansAssist in the preparation of Corporate business unit management reporting, including the Corporate business unit P&L and Balance Sheet Variance analysisPreparation of the quarterly consolidated embedded derivative review, working with business owners to identify contracts for protentional embedded derivativesBackup for SAP FI Master Data Maintenance and FI Close processesSupport on-going initiatives and projects as requiredWhat you will bring:5 years of work experience, more specifically financial accounting or reporting experience, preferably in a public companyA professional accounting designation (CPA)Experience with data and variance analysis, including researching causes and providing clear explanationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsResults orientation, with ability to work in a deadline driven environmentStrong attention to details combined with the ability to see the big pictureExcellent analytical skills, problem solving and decision-making capabilityStrong organizational and time management skillsPro-active approach to identifying issues &/or potential for improvement and taking ownership to resolveKnowledge of Pension Plan Accounting would be considered an assetExperience using the finance module in SAP and consolidation system BPC/EPM would be considered an assetCommitment to sustaining our safe and positive work environment while having the ability to embrace working side by side others in a diverse cultureAre you a good match?
