JOB SUMMARY
There opportunities for relief positions which report to the Residential Management team. This position is located at our undisclosed Youth Haven and Safe House locations which are voluntary co-ed residential programs for at-risk youth aged 16 – 19 years who need a safe place to stay. This position works in a team of two staff members. The youth are encouraged to develop goals and links to appropriate services to address their needs. The programs accept intakes 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and it serves youth from all over the Lower Mainland.
Hours of work: Days, Evenings, Overnights, and Holidays
KEY CONTRIBUTIONS
Create rapport and trusting, non-judgmental relationships with youth in the programs
Create and monitor individual service plan for youth in collaboration with the youth, connected resources and colleagues.
Maintain professional, positive relationships with community partners and other service providers.
Maintain accurate records and data entry related to youth files.
Responsible for maintaining knowledge of current best practices and available resources.
Ensure clear and concise communication and information transfer to colleagues and management including shift change.
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, supervision sessions and performance evaluation process.
WHAT YOU BRING
Education and training:
Completion or in pursuit of Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Psychology or other related degrees/diploma/certificate and/or two years recent related experience with at-risk youth.
Current First Aid, FoodSafe Level 1 and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificates are an asset.
Knowledge/Abilities:
Ability to deal effectively with conflict situations, manage aggressive behavior, and use non-violent crisis intervention and behavioral management techniques
Ability to communicate proficiently both verbally and in writing
Ability to work independently and a part of a team
Ability to work in a culturally diverse population
Basic computer literacy
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
Knowledge of issues/needs of high risk and/or street involved youth including harm reduction and low barrier resources.

Salary/Pay Grade : Relief wages range between $20.18 and $ 21.61 depending on the program
Start Date : As soon as possible
