The PC works collaboratively with primarily our internal Weir stakeholders (and some external) to meet short and long project deadlines and ensure that customer requirements are met across all departments. As the primary point of contact internally for projects, the PC coordinates the execution of projects valued from 50K$ to 5M$+ from receipt of order, through design, procurement, manufacturing, QA/QC to completion of shipping and documentation.The PC is based in our primary manufacturing facility in Surrey, BC but also interface with our other system companies across Canada and around the globe. Objectives:Responsible for ensuring that a superior quality product is delivered by Weir Minerals Canada to our customers (internal & external) on time and on budget to all aspects of the Customer Statement of Work (SOW). This will include internal coordination of activities from order entry, engineering design to procurement, material expediting/inspection, and finally production progress tracking & logistics. All activities shall be complying to the ISO Product Realization Procedures for new and repair Standard Products. Provides support to the Sales and Product Management Departments in quoting new or rebuild jobs. Participates as required, in the sign off and acceptance of new customer orders in accordance with the Quote/Contract Review Procedures. This requires communicating as necessary with internal departments, to ensure Weir Minerals can meet the desired objectives on time.Responsible for the formalization, development and execution of the New Rebuild Service offered to high volume user. This includes coordination of 3rd party contactors, use of SAP, and providing weekly updates internally/externally. Co-ordinates with the Purchasing Department to ensure all services and materials are ordered in a timeframe consistent with the master timeline. Ensures proper Engineering Specifications have been established, & provided to define clear “acceptance criteria” for Suppliers/Quality Assurance in execution of Weir Minerals Purchase Orders. Tracks critical material receiving as required via SAP and/or by physically checking the actual material is in inventory.Co-ordinates with manufacturing shop leads to ensure all material for production item testing is in stock and available per project timelines. Collaborates with internal Scheduling, Production, QA/QC team to ensure the SAP information is an accurate reflection of the current status & project requirements.Schedules, maintains, minutes and conducts Project Review Meetings as required with all internal team members responsible for successfully meeting customer requirements. Assures conformance to ISO9001 procedures including timely reporting of Budgets, Timelines, Open Issues Lists, Meeting Minutes and supporting documentation for prototype, repair, service or production.Communicates with the internal Product/Project Engineer & Sales team, in a timely fashion any internal delays/road blocks the will negatively impact cost, quality or timing. Coordinates with the Product/Project Engineer & Sales in matters pertaining to commercial issues. In conjunction with the Document Control Department, co-ordinates the review, revision, return, and completion of Weir customer SDRL & VDI for formal documentation requirements per project schedule. Communicates with sub-contractors and vendors to ensure clear understanding of Weir Minerals Statement of Requirements and/or expectations as outlined in Purchase Orders. Commercial issues are communicated thru the Purchasing Department.Coordinates the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process within Weir Minerals and with external vendors as required.Creates necessary job files and maintains proper Record Retention / filing systems to ensure all information is properly stored, backed up (electronically) and easily retrieved in Team Center in conformance to ISO9001 procedures.Provides all necessary information pertaining to customer needs to all disciplines with in Weir Minerals, sub-vendors, sub-contractors and with sister divisions.Updates and maintains information in SAP as necessary.Supports the Returned Goods Authorization (RGA) Procedure on an as requested basis.Initiates plans and ideas for cost reduction and/or quality improvement measures.Follows and enforces the guidelines and rules as defined in the Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company policies.Very limited travel may be required.Co-ordinates and interacts with 3rd Party Inspectors to ensure compliance to the SOR and final acceptance of the manufactured product.Other duties as assigned by supervisorHealth & Safety: Key Responsibilities & Requirements:Able to work in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves and othersAble to demonstrate compliance to company safety procedures and legal obligationsRecognise and report and resolve hazards identifiedConfidence and ability to intervene on practices deemed to be unsafeEngage and promote a zero-harm cultureAble to lift up to 40 lbs on an occasional basis only Be aware of physical limitations based upon job requirementsEducation/Experience:Minimum: Technical or Business College Diploma with relevant technical experience. Minimum: 1-5 years related experience in Project Coordination, Purchasing, and/or inter-departmental customer-facing function. Interest in pursuing PMP designation as asset but not required.Experience in a face-paced manufacturing or construction industry would be considered an asset.Experience using SAP is highly recommended Experience with leading the successful execution & organization of multiple short and long term project in parallel would be considered an asset. Language:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively verbally present information and respond to questions from groups of co-workers from other department, customers, or the general public.Effective verbal and written communication in English is critical to this role. French as a secondary language is considered an asset but not required.Mathematical Skills:Ability to complete basic addition/subtraction & multiplication/division as needed to define scope, costs, and project completion.
