Take a look at these videos to learn more about who we are and what we do!POSITION OVERVIEW:Reporting to the Day Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse activity specific to supporting the receiving team, including but not limited to safety, sanitation, distribution of work assignments, releasing invoices and any other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:Mentors, motivates and develops staff and acts as a role model and resource to themThe ability to present the Company and oneself in a positive manner, consistent with the Cornerstone Values of Gordon Food Service.Assists with the safe and cost effective operation of warehouse activities and processesAssists in the development and enhancement of warehouse procedures.Works closely with all other warehouse departments.Instructs and monitors personnel in use of equipment.Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiating appropriate follow-up, including praise and recognition as well as if necessary, disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Management and Human Resources.Adheres to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending related conferences, seminars, etc.Maintain peer relationships in the field to share issues and ideas.Ability to execute tasks in all warehouse environments at the Milton Distribution Centre.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:Operations & Systems knowledge – experience with Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms) and WMS fusion is an asset.
