Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together As a member of the Optimization & Procurement team within Global Partner Management (GPM), you will transform how TELUS delivers wireline services to business customers in our Eastern Canada and international markets. You’ll be able to make your mark with a strong analytical mind while taking initiative to identify and deliver results on anything you put your hands on. You collaborate well with cross-functional teams across the organization and have the ability to present to our management team. Strong communication skills will help you to influence and evolve how TELUS does business across our growing portfolio. Finally you’ll have to use various systems, reporting tools, and databases to make business decisions including revenue/cost management, enhanced customer experiences, and unlocking operational efficiencies. By joining our team, you will create value for TELUS by optimizing our supplier partnerships. The Vendor Manager will be responsible for providing technical, financial and business expertise used in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans supporting overall TELUS off-net activities. Here’s how Negotiate and manage the contract commitments made with our suppliers Lead cross-functional teams and our partners; to ensure complex data networking solutions successfully meet customer expectations Develop solutions and/or take actions to mitigate financial risk Enable TELUS sales activities for opportunities by generating supporting request for quotations (RFQs), evaluating the responses, negotiating the architecture solution and pricing, and monitoring the implementation of services Undertake activities to reduce overall off-net expenditures and work with other teams within TELUS to realize these reductions Handle supplier escalations within the commercial team for commitments missed and provide analysis and recommendations on their ability to meet the off-net requirements of TELUS You”re the missing piece of the puzzle Strong telecommunications industry knowledge Strong understanding of supplier evaluation and negotiation techniques Knowledge of TELUS operating areas and understanding of Voice, Data, Internet Protocol (IP) & Wireless Solutions Demonstrated drive and enthusiasm and ability to work in a highly energetic and competitive environment Strong conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills Ability to interact and work effectively with a broad range of TELUS functional areas Exceptional planning and organizational skills with a confirmed ability to handle multiple priorities Demonstrated skills in relationship building and relationship management Post-secondary degree in in Business or related field Project management experience 5+ years of direct negotiation and contract management experience Telecommunications network design experience Financial and business case development experience Why YOU will love this opportunity: Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, share purchase program with a generous company contribution, opportunities and support for growth & development Flexible work program that gives team members the ability to work where and when they’re most productive TELUS Values: We embrace Change and initiate Opportunity We have a passion for Growth We believe in spirited Teamwork We have the courage to Innovate Who is TELUS?
