If you have a successful track record and thrive on challenges in a fast paced environment, this is the opportunity for you.Key ResponsibilitiesScoping, estimating, planning and designing Telecom system designs for our transmission line and substation projectsDeveloping documents, schematics, and diagrams for utility-type Telecom systems as well as project scope, proposals, estimates, and budgetsCreating bill of materials for all Telecom equipment and hardware, ordering materials through procurement, and coordinating construction activitiesPreparing and reviewing engineering documents, specifications, as well as inspection and testing proceduresWriting and planning project scope(s), staging plans, test plans, proposals, estimates, schedules, and budgetsCoordinating, staging and planning installation and commissioning with utilities and subcontractorsResponding to information requests from site and completing project documentation including as-builts, calculations and returning the data to the clientTraveling to site and liaising with internal groups and external contractors and clientsEnhancing and maintaining relationships with internal groups as well as external contractors and clientsLeading projects from conception through construction and commissioning, including mentoring junior engineers and designersElectrical Engineering Degree or Electronics & Communications Engineering Degree from a recognized university along with a Professional Engineering Designation or the ability to register as a Professional Engineer or EIT with EGBCFor the senior position a minimum of 10 years of Telecom experience in a Transmission and Distribution utility or EPC/EPCM organization environment designing substationsProven knowledge of SONET/SDH, PDH, TDM, Microwave radio, WIMAX, Ethernet layer 2 and 3 protocols, TCP/IP and MPLS networksWorking experience with communication systems in Power utility environments, including Microwave Radio, Fibre Optics, Teleprotection, High Voltage Entrance Protection and Power Line Carrier communicationWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
