4N Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
Monday to Friday – 8 hour day shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Receptionist and clerical functions including admitting and discharge processes, answering phones, directing patients and family members. Co-ordinating and facilitating the clerical needs of Inpatient Rehabilitation. Will complete requisitions and other documentation such as data retrieval of old charts for patient admissions. Additional: will assist with scheduling, daily staffing requirements, weekly payroll and participates in patient care in areas.
Halton Healthcare Services is seeking individuals who are competent in their chosen profession; patient/customer focused; team players; effective communicators; caring and respectful and are fiscally responsible.
Grade 12 diploma required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a similar position required
Medical terminology certificate or equivalent working experience required.
A minimum of 30 wpm typing speed required
Must have fast and accurate computer data entry skills
Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Experience using patient related databases.
Must be able to prioritize workload and function independently in a busy environment
Good interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Able to diplomatically respond to inquiries from staff, volunteers, patients, family members and members of the general public
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently
Must be physically able to perform the job: prolonged periods of time sitting; standing; walking; and pushing and pulling variety of wheeled equipment.
Satisfactory employment record and attendance record required
$19.08 – $23.82 per hour
