Turf Care Supervisor (Seasonal Spring/Summer 2019) Working in the Turf Care department, the Turf Care Supervisor ensures that the golf course is being maintained to the standards set by the Superintendent. They will monitor the plant health of the golf course, by overseeing a variety of fertility and cultural programs and ensuring that the irrigation system is performing as required. They will also be responsible for overseeing all training in regards to equipment and daily course set up. The Stanley Thompson Course was originally built with 18 holes in 1928 by its namesake, a Canadian master golf course architect. It later received an additional nine holes, the Tunnel Mountain Course, built by golf architects Cornish and Robinson in 1989.The par-71 course is renowned for its panoramic beauty and offers a captivating and challenging layout , with many well-placed bunkers, Thompson’s trademark. Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to theGolf CourseSuperintendents, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service Monitor golf course grooming and employees ensuring programs are meeting expectations and Fairmont standards are being met Execution of approved cultural practices schedule (fertilization, venting, topdressing, etc.) Maintain accurate records for all pesticide and fertilizer applications Ensure the golf course’s IPM program is followed correctly Assist with the monitoring of daily water requirement, maintaining the irrigation central control system, and maintaining pump house records Irrigation system auditing, tracking, and modification Pressurizing and winterizing the irrigation system and golf course Train all colleagues and ensure training sign-offs are completed Be a role model for all colleagues Along with the Superintendents, create equipment/procedure training manuals In the absence of the Superintendents, conduct daily morning briefing with all colleagues Conduct end of day procedures (i.e. ensuring all keys are returned, etc.) With the Superintendents’ assistance, conduct performance counseling and documentation Must be flexible and able to jump into various roles when necessary Other tasks as assigned Turf Care Supervisor (Seasonal Spring/Summer 2019) Working in the Turf Care department, the Turf Care Supervisor ensures that the golf course is being maintained to the standards set by the Superintendent. Pushing & Pulling up to 50 lbs.
