About the TeamThe Product Quality Team is responsible for upholding the quality of all Avigilon products. These products can range from software features, web applications, video analytics, mobile applications, hardware appliances, and more! We are a multidisciplinary team of test developers that support the testing needs of a product from prototype to release.About the RoleAs a Test Developer, you will work closely with software developers, project managers, and product managers to create high-quality products. You have great attention to detail, in addition to being able to identify system-wide dependencies. You wear two pairs of shoes, the customer’s and your own, and you believe that an intuitive design is the best design. You recognize the importance of performance, stability, and uptime for security systems. You enjoy finding creative solutions to a wide-range of testing challenges.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, design, document, and perform tests for software and hardware productsDevelop, maintain, and execute automated tests for software and hardware productsDesign and develop tools to facilitate testing of software and hardware productsIdentify, reproduce, and report product defectsModel and characterize product performance and scalability metricsCreate and maintain documentation on test and development operationsLiaise between product development teams to ensure accuracy of processes and product qualityDesign and develop internal tools to improve process efficiencyQualificationsHas a degree or diploma in a computing, engineering, science, or math disciplineHas 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in a testing roleHas experience with object-oriented programming, coding skills, and test automation frameworksIs familiar in: C#, C++, Python, Ruby, shell scripting, Powershell, JavaScriptAble to deal well with ambiguous or undefined problemsHas the ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutionsHas excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, and analytical skillsHas experience testing in both Windows and Linux environmentsAble to setup and configure computers, virtual machines, and networks to support testingPerks and BenefitsAs a full-time employee at Avigilon, you are eligible to receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes MSP, extended health, dental, and medical insurance while travelling.
