Job Details: We are currently seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer forour Mississauga office. An Intermediate Structural Engineer performs various engineering assignments which requires a general familiarity with a broad field of engineering. Must be able to solve problems by use of combinations of standard and modified standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Responsibilities: Responsible for supervising large groups of professionals and non-professionals or small groups of specialized engineers or as a highly specialized technical engineer in the Power sector. The ability to lead large or small projects is an asset The candidate will be capable of committing to and maintaining a project timeline The ability to document and track project tasks and related design documents is required (strong organizational skills) Must have strong computer oriented skills (familiarity with Autocad, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions, Structural Analysis Software such as STAAD, SFrame, RISA etc…) Previous experience in the design of heavy industrial structures (steel, concrete, wood, masonry), preferably in the power distribution industry, and Consulting Engineering experience is desirable Knowledge of process plants, headframe structures, shaft steel, and underground steel and concrete structures is an asset Experience in communicating with other design disciplines and having an appreciation for the impact of their designs on other design disciplines is an asset Strong communication skills are required Tetra Tech is a leading provider of consulting, engineering, and technical services worldwide.
