Culture at Nutrien is the core of everything we do and all employees are respectful of diverse opinions and views.Reporting to the Turnaround Program Manager, and a member of the central turnaround team, the Turnaround SH&E Specialist will be directly supporting the SH&E component of TA staging and execution. Through the Pre-TA phases, this role will assist the site with setup and integration of all TA SH&E programs. This role may transition to a TA execution support role, depending on workload and TA size.In addition, this role has overall accountability for the development, implementation, and sustainability of Turnaround SH&E tools, standards and methods used to manage turnaround ranging from $2m to $200m in cost, and up to two months in duration.Key Tasks:Strategy & Preliminary Development: Engaging TA leadership to understand expectations for upcoming TA, SH&E program changes and trends, and setting SH&E goals at kick-off. Ensure continuous improvement in, and regulatory compliance of, SH&E performance through the implementation of structured programs, processes, and procedures to support improved SH&E performance.Development, Optimization, Pre-TA: Responsible for ongoing monitoring of SH&E TA staging plan, leading both internal and external resources to complete all staging activities. Accountable to central and senior leadership to complete all preparation milestones on time. Main activities include ensuring effective onboarding of internal and external resources, ensuring SH&E protocols and procedures are in place, consistent SH&E application across TA event, reporting and response plans established, and integration of changes in policyPre-Turnaround: This role will be responsible for ensuring implementation of SH&E program and protocols as manpower ramps up for pre-work. Ensures key metrics are in place and used, and other indicators are understood and used as feedback to adjust prior to execution window. Employee management including developing SH&E personnel, and ensure that staff receives adequate leadership, mentoring, coaching and personal/ professional development opportunities.Execution: The SH&E Specialist may not be included in execution, depending on the overall TA schedule and workload. If workload allows, this role may be assigned to an SH&E execution role.Post TA: Ensures continued tracking of post-work resources. Assists with TA closeout and Post Assessment. Integrates learnings back into improving and sustaining Nutrien SH&E programs.Skills:Embodies a “Commitment to Zero” attitude towards personal safetyExpert leadership, conflict resolution, and team building skillsSubject matter expert in turnaround drivers, processes, challenges, and strategies with focused expertise in SH&EStrong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to provide clear explanations as well as get buy-in and supportStrong ability to strategize, and tie together different processes and systemsStrong ability to gather user requirements, research industry best practices, understand and influence culture, and assimilate into successful business systemsAbility to work autonomously and provide own work direction with highly complex, and business significant subject matterKnowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of Ammonia and Urea production (or equivalent).Intermediate or higher skills in ExcelKnowledgeable of other MS Office systems (Word, Power Point, Project etc.), Primavera and SAP (or comparable CMMS/ERP system)Qualifications:High School Diploma, Trade/Power Engineering Certification or Bachelor Degree (Engineering Preferred)OH&S Certification and CRSP or CSP designation10 years of increasing responsibilities in a turnaround environment, including experience in SH&E supervisory role.Nutrien is committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
