Job Description
Right now we’re looking for great people like you to join our team for our 2018/19 Live Horse Racing Season! We’re looking for outgoing, professional, guest service driven individuals to join our Food & Beverage Team as Servers. As a Server, you will be responsible for taking food and beverage orders and answering our guests questions. You will provide unrivaled personalized services to our guests while maintaining regard for our rules, regulations and outlet operational guidelines. This is a temporary position ending in April 2019. This position requires flexible scheduling and a minimum of Friday evening and Sunday afternoon availability for Live Racing Days; additional shifts may be scheduled. Racing Days are subject to change.
Taking guests’ orders and making recommendations;
Handling payments by credit card, debit cards and cash;
Entering transactions into the Point of Sales system (POS);
Processing lottery transactions;
Informing guests of any daily specials;
Explaining how menu items and beverages are prepared;
Presenting bills upon request and taking payments;
Ensuring food is expedited in a timely manner;
Assisting other servers as necessary, including bussing tables and running food;
Clearing tables, removing glasses and re-stocking if required;
Restocking and replenishing areas as required;
Covering other sections if required;
Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments;
Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations;
Performing other duties as assigned or directed.
Minimum one year of relevant experience in a high volume environment;
Previous POS (Squirrel) experience an asset;
The ability to stand for long periods of time;
A High School Diploma;
Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills;
Understanding of yourself as well as others when communicating with team members and guests;
Excellent multi-tasking skills;
A passion for providing Unrivaled Personal Service to our guests;
Serving it Right Certification;
The ability to successfully obtain and maintain a criminal record check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB).
