Wood in Calgary is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to work on pipeline projects. Our pipeline group has both underground pipeline projects as well as above ground flowlines projects associated with SAGD facilities. The planned position is for project engineering on above ground flowlines projects. Responsibilities for a project engineer vary depending on the stage and size of the project but typically involve a combination of coordinating the work of the disciplines, leading multidiscipline problem-solving activities and supporting the project manager in managing the project to deliver on time and on budget. For this position, the candidate should have experience in all these areas and be able to take on a large share of the project management responsibilities for a flowlines project.Responsibilities:Support the preparation and implementation of effective project execution plans & proceduresMonitor engineering design compliance to the Design Basis Manage a defined project scope to schedule and budgetCoordinate cross discipline input into procurement and contract technical packages assigned to their areaMonitor design evolution from basic engineering to detail engineering for documents and drawings and mitigate interdisciplinary conflictsReview discipline progress and performance on a biweekly basis with the area discipline leads and develop action plans with project discipline leads when requiredDevelop and maintain the area action log that shows decisions and information required to maintain the area scheduleManage the change process for the assigned work scopeDevelop effective relationships with the client’s project members University degree in engineering Senior: 12 or more years” experience in the oil and gas industryExperience in pipeline projects with proven experience in either above ground SAGD flowlines or underground lines for oil and gas liquidsThorough knowledge of CSA Z662 required Detailed engineering experience on pipeline projectsExperience in materials procurement, bidding and supporting construction activitiesExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to build and maintain effective client relationshipsWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
