Driving business excellence, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Our Consulting team works with organizations in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors to provide innovative strategies tailored to maximize efficiencies, enhance performance and increase profitability. Performance ExpectationsResponsible for the delivery of consulting services such as strategic planning, business planning, feasibility studies, process improvement, performance improvement, organizational effectiveness and analytical studiesPlan, conduct and provide leadership in data collection through primary, secondary, comparative and best practice research, including interviews, focus groups, facilitated workshops, surveys, review of client data, direct observation, published reports, internet research and direct contactsExecute financial modeling, business planning, feasibility studies, strategic planning, operational planning, program reviews, program redesigns and other forms of project-based management consulting assignmentsAccountable for managing project financials (use of resources, budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)Facilitate collaboration with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas and project metricsThink strategically about client needs by quickly gaining an understanding of their business, their organization, operating environment and key risksIdentify ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added valueMaintain high quality control by reviewing work done from other team members for accuracy and completeness; provide feedback to team membersMonitor project timelines against targets, adjust where necessary; advise clients of project status and seek clarification on discrepancies where applicableLeverage team appropriately to ensure proper documentation is prepared for the client and procedures relating to the file are followed accordinglyPromote MNP advisory services through the delivery of presentations, writing articles, facilitating workshops or participating in community activitiesDevelop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industryRaise awareness of MNP through discussions at community events including client and company sponsored functionsNetwork in the local business community and consider business development opportunitiesContribute to the development of new ideas and approaches in order to improve work processes Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and addressing performance issues promptlyPromote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellnessConduct formal, written annual performance reviewsCredentialsCompletion of a Bachelor’s Degree in business, technology, engineering or another related fieldCompletion of a Master’s Degree in business is considered an assetEight (8) to nine (9) years of consulting experience, ideally in a client-service environmentCompletion of a Certified Management Consultant Certification is an assetStrong finance and accounting analytical capabilityExperience in project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, decision making, documentation, managing client expectations, project profitability and team leadershipExperience in business and practice developmentStrong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointSome travel may be requiredCore Competencies and Personal CharacteristicsIntegrity – professional whose honesty, integrity, confidentiality and high ethical standards contributes to effective leadership and optimal business relationshipsEnergy – displays enthusiasm, optimism and passion while maintaining a high level of productivity and a balanced lifestyleDiversity – understands the importance of different backgrounds, perspectives and experiences and is respectful of individual differencesCommunication – effectively expresses ideas and conveys information in business writing, conversations and interactions with others that make an impact and persuade their intended audience(s)Client Service Excellence – understands the importance of quality client service, proactively identifies client needs and creates strategies to proficiently serve clientsBusiness Development – looks for and seizes profitable business opportunities while focusing on the ability to gain increased presence in the community Forward Thinking – anticipates the implications of situations, takes appropriate action as needed and prepares for possible contingenciesAgility with Change – initiates, sponsors and implements change by taking a facilitative catalyst role People Management & Leadership – goal-driven leader who effectively manages self, others and teams to achieve goalsCoaching – takes responsibility for one’s own and team members’ performance by setting clear goals and tracking progress against those goals, promptly addresses performance issues, is highly organized and uses personal judgement and decision makingMNP encourages a balanced lifestyle and offers benefits that suit the way our team members work and play!
