Here”s the impact you”ll make and what we”ll accomplish together As a Senior Financial Analyst within the Finance team supporting People & Culture (P&C), you will be an integral part of the $550 million per year P&C TELUS Operating Expenses (OpEx) portfolio in all Financial Planning & Analysis requirements. At the core of your talents is your innate ability to communicate; you transform your in-depth financial analysis into a clear format that stakeholders understand If you’re ready to deliver value-added financial reporting, forecasting and analysis services to a dynamic business unit read on… Here”s how Each day you will bring your A-game to the field of Finance: Month-End & Reporting: Produce financial and key performance indicator (KPI) reporting with variances explanations on a monthly basis Continuously work with People & Culture primes to ensure policy and control adherence, sufficiently mitigating financial & reporting risks to TELUS Improve on current reporting processes to ensure clear and concise management reporting with automation where appropriate Forecasting: Prime the preparation of monthly rolling forecast (“Triage”) which includes operating expenses, headcount/full-time employee (FTE) forecasts for P&C Prime the preparation of Annual Budget & Strat Check (long-term model) which includes operating expenses, headcount/FTE forecasts for P&C Partner with key P&C stakeholders to budget, triage, and provide variance analysis of TELUS benefits plan Improve forecast accuracy through in-depth analysis of historical data Ad-hoc: Maintain SAP, Hyperion hierarchies Participate in miscellaneous analysis calculations measuring the impact of various changes to the benefits plan Create and present organizational information and financial reports to P&C members and senior leadership including TELUS Vice Presidents & Directors Identify, develop and implement process improvements related to OpEx management Develop effective business relationships with peers, the senior finance team and serve as OpEx prime to the business unit team You”re the missing piece of the puzzle Big Thinker: Strong analytical, financial modeling and innovative thinking skills with strong sense of ownership and ability to make effective decisions and deal with complex issues Collaborative Team Player: Able to work well in a cross-functional team environment maintaining inter-departmental respect, sensitivity to all perspectives and information Engaging Communicator: Able to forge strong cross-functional working relationships and influence all levels in the organization with negotiation skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and professionally with senior management Proactive Planner: Strong organizational skills with the ability to scope out difficult tasks & projects, set objectives and goals, develop schedules, prioritize multiple activities, and anticipate roadblocks Able to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and goals in fast-paced, ever-changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment Self-Starter: High standards of performance and a strong desire to learn Great-to-haves Minimum 5-7 years of relevant analytical experience Experience with month-end close work, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and controls monitoring & remediation Accounting designation: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)/Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA) required with post qualification experience preferred Business Finance or Accounting related degree Exceptional in-depth Microsoft (MS) Excel skills Advanced knowledge of MS PowerPoint Who is TELUS?
