Senior Business Consultant The Senior Business Consultant acts as the primary contact/relationship manager for a portfolio of business partners in the development and implementation of strategic directions, new business opportunities, product initiatives, and service developments. The Senior Business Consultant supports the Account Manager, Senior Technology Officer, or Lead Technology Officer in managing the technology relationship for specific areas or lines of business. The Senior Business Consultant consults with the business to understand its goals and objectives for a specific initiative or project and advises the business on the functionality, applicability, and usability of alternative technology solutions. In addition, this roles also performs this function for other internal Bank technology teams looking to leverage Channels Technology platforms and applications. ACCOUNTABILITIES Identifies the business needs for new and enhanced products, services, and business processes, clarifies genuine technology requirements to identify gaps Creation and management of business-technology roadmaps including the alignment to business strategy and technology capability alignment to produce a 12 to 36 month overview. Provides consultancy and advice to business partners on the applicability and usability of alternative technology to help address the business problem / issue Builds, sustains, and leverages relationships and people networks across business functions, business partners, technology partners, and external organizations to ensure a cooperative and productive environment Supports the development of the business partner technology investment, including planning and tracking of all budgets for projects and continuing operations, ongoing work prioritization, and understanding of financial forecasting to ensure that finances are allocated appropriately Facilitates the development of strategic and tactical Information Technology (IT) plans to help identify future opportunities to inform current project work of the direction of the business Collaborates with business partners, senior management, and executives from multiple Lines of Business (LOBs), to define project objectives, business processes, and requirements Supervises the activities of the project team in capturing, analyzing, and documenting requirements to ensure the quality of the output, as well as provide managerial direction for broad, diverse, and complex project work specifically during conceptualization and into project initiation. For large, complex problems, facilitates large group requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders from different LOBs to ensure that all impacted parties have an opportunity to express their needs. Audits documents and models produced by Business Analysts and Business Consultants to ensure quality of the product Provides coaching, professional guidance, and support to Business Analysts and Business Consultants, as required, in order to foster professional development Collaborates and manages expectation of other technology groups (internal and external) through a strong understanding of business needs as well as existing technology landscape and strategic architecture.
