This position will provide mechanical engineering support for rotating equipment within the Maintenance and Reliability department. Responsibilities:This position will provide mechanical engineering support for rotating equipmentLead & manage Reliability Projects, establishing and tracking mechanical equipment priorities with key stakeholders (Maintenance, Operations, and Plant EngineeringLead & participate in the use of NOVA Reliability Systems Standards & Analytical Tools to ensure optimal reliability methods are applied; such as FMEA, RCFA, etc.Develop equipment strategies and ensure these are implemented into our Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP)Review new equipment designs to ensure maintenance and reliability issues are evaluated and addressedLead & support focus teams on equipment failures to determine root causes and identify actions to prevent re occurrenceResponsible to Plant Work Teams, Operations and Maintenance for critical mechanical issues, including equipment specification & changes and troubleshooting, plant trips, & capacity limitationsFamiliar with condition monitoring tools and techniques such as vibration analysis, lube oil analysis, etc.Qualifications:The successful candidate will have a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and their Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation through PEO (or equivalent regulatory body). The candidate will also have: 8+ years related engineering experience in an industrial plant or equivalent technology environment Ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision, managing multiple projects and tasks in a dynamic work environmentDemonstrated strong willingness to take initiative and be a self-directed workerGood interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present or explain information using a variety of formal presentation tools and techniquesDemonstrated ability to work effectively with Operations, Maintenance, and Technical teamsAbility to promptly identify problems in processes and/or equipment and offer practical solutions in a timely mannerAbility to deal with ambiguity and frame issues to define scopeExperience with SAP would be an assetDemonstrated commitment towards safetyAccommodations for job applicants with disabilities are available on request.About Us:NOVA Chemicals develops and manufactures chemicals and plastic resins that make everyday life safer, healthier and easier.
