Job Description
Retail Sales Director
McCain Foods
is responsible for the LCL retail business, managing the maintenance and expansion of this commercial relationship and leading a team.
McCain Foods
is looking for an experienced and ambitious individual to take on this role. In this role you will be developing opportunities for growth, addressing challenges, developing/mentoring team members and delivering on your strategic goals.
Responsibilities Include:
Offer solutions to customers in an effort to leverage opportunities based on consumer needs and profitable category management
Strategically work with the customer to drive profitability through win-win sales propositions
Utilize the principles of enterprise selling to develop joint customer business plans that encompass all functions
Effectively and efficiently respond to all known needs while uncovering unmet customer needs
Orchestrate strategic customer meetings which are focused on the entire value chain
Continuously identify opportunities that result in improved performance that drives profitability
Deploy the full organizational resources of McCain and the customer in collaborative partnerships which provide sustainable competitive advantage
Effectively coach/train team through sales negotiations of strategic direction to achieve company’s objectives

Researcher – ability to research, uncover, listen and understand the key attributes of products, the needs of consumers and customers and overall trends
Demonstrate a keen understanding of how to generate and calculate ROI from customer promotions and initiatives.
Qualifications Include:
Bachelor’s Degree (Business Administration, Marketing, Statistics, and Economics or equivalent)
8+ years of progressive experience in managing large retail accounts. Sales strategy, Finance and/or Category management experience plus People management experience, preferably within the consumer packaged goods industry
Ability to analyze data and information into actionable strategies and business recommendations
Ability to effectively support and guide team members across the organization
Effectively and persuasively expresses ideas and opinions
Strong time management skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple functions and levels
Demonstrated financial acumen and
understanding of financial elements that impact overall profitability
COGS, P&L, ROI, etc.)
Strong understanding of the retail environment for consumer packaged goods
Thorough grasp and forward thinking application of consumer insights
Ability to anticipate and understand wants, needs, goals and strategies of key customer stakeholders (deeper penetration and understanding)
