We are looking to employ a
Research Technician II
to join our highly productive research laboratory focused on the development of pluripotent stem cell-based therapies for heart disease. The individual will be required to assist research associates, senior fellows and/or graduate students including in campaign manufacturing of stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes for various experiments. In addition, the individual will be responsible for undertaking experiments that include expertise in the following: cell culture, molecular biology techniques and flow cytometry. Experience in these areas is essential.
Other responsibilities may include: compiling data from related and/or unrelated sources; performing moderately complex analyses; interpreting test results and experiments; communicating and maintaining records of experimental data; monitoring and maintaining lab chemical/cell stocks and/or equipment; ordering and maintaining inventories of supplies, animals, and/or equipment; may be required to perform animal venipuncture (appropriate education is required).
• At minimum, completion of a Bachelor of Science degree
• At minimum, 3 years’ experience as a technician
• Experience is essential in: flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques and flow cytometry
• Experience with culture of pluripotent stem cells preferred
• Experience with cell manufacturing preferred
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Follows established guidelines, procedures, and standards
• Good problem-solving skills
• Excellent organization skills
• Demonstrates excellent competency in written and verbal communications
