Position: Research Technician I

Dr. Naoto Hirano is seeking a Research Technician with a strong background in immunology.
The successful candidate will coordinate and conduct experiments and analyze data in the field of cancer immunology and immunotherapy.
The individual will also be engaged in general lab maintenance activities.
Responsibilities will include:
• Processing human tissues and blood
• Performing cell culture procedures, and cellular and molecular biology and immunology assays
• Analyzing data
• Performing general lab maintenance activities
• B.Sc. (M.Sc. preferred) in immunology, biological sciences or similar field
• Minimum six (6) months related experience (two (2) years related experience preferred)
• Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices is an asset
• Detail-oriented and well organized
• Excellent laboratory skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Flexible schedule
The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and be consistent with the University Health Network compensation policy.
