Kinder Morgan is the largest independent terminal operator in North America, providing a strong, reliable network of terminals to serve our customers’ storage, distribution, blending and logistical needs.
These assets include a portfolio of strategic infrastructure across western Canada including terminal facilities in Alberta providing merchant storage to customers as well as rail terminals offering loading and delivery services for liquids products.
Under the direction of the Regional EHS Manager, you will be a key contributor to the success of Kinder Morgan Canada Terminals – Alberta Region.
Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide regulatory and land advisement and strategy to operations and projects;
Obtain all required third party land agreements (surface lease, crossing, temporary work space, access, right-of-way, etc.);
Support the development, drafting and submission of regulatory applications and land packages;
Review master crossing lists and drawings from surveying consultants;
Create land line lists for public consultation purposes;
Liaison with third parties and conduct land negotiations, as required;
Develop third party land consents;
Coordinate execution of third party agreements;
Provide regular and timely status updates;
Manage regulatory & land files and associated documentation;
Maintain surface leases and permits/approvals;
Review and assess new regulatory requirements;
Draft regulatory briefings/summaries;
Participate in industry associations; and
Foster critical relationships with clients, technical and non-technical staff, third parties and government representatives.

KMCT Business Development
Land Agent Certificate (or equivalent) and Supervisory Ground Disturbance training,
Over 7 years relevant regulatory and land experience in the oil and gas industry;
Strong understanding of municipal, provincial and federal regulations/acts;
Experience working with Alberta EHS, Regulatory & Land regulations;
Experience working with midstream pipelines, facilities and tank terminals an asset;
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to think and act independently, critically and analytically;
Superior communication skills, both written and oral;
Works well in a team and collaborative environment;
Exemplary support and organization skills with ability to work effectively within tight deadlines; and
Solid research skills.
