Reporting to the Directors of Resident Care, Registered Nurses support the nursing program in accordance with the standards of the Ministry of Health and Long term Care and the standards of practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario. Maintains own competency through reflective practice, ongoing learning and professional development. RESPONSIBILITIES Oversees daily care of residents Assigns and monitors workload of RPN and PSW staff on the unit Maintaining positive relationship with all nursing staff Adhere to established department policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, safety, and environment and infection control Monthly data collection Resident safety program Supports admissions and discharges of residents Participates in Quality Improvement Program Any other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS A registered nurse in the general class with a current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario and in good standing Relevant experience in long-term care is an asset Demonstrates excellent customer service, leadership and organizational skills Current competency in CPR maintained according to College of Nurses of Ontario Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and presentation Proficiency in computer applications including Point Click Care and Microsoft Office (training available) Able to maintain a positive attitude and ability to multi task in a fast paced environmentHours of work for this position provide options for days, evenings or night shifts.
