Sponsorship Eligibility Expires:2019-09-01 Responsibilities/Duties: The Tom Baker Cancer Centre (TBCC) in Calgary is seeking a long term (6months – 1 year) Locum Radiation Oncologist. You will join an existing team of 22 Radiation Oncologists, several of whom work part time. The TBCC is a full-service, academic cancer centre with 8 linear accelerators, orthovoltage and HDR capability. There are active gyne, prostate and breast brachytherapy programs. A new, full service, 109,000 m2 cancer centre with 15 linac vaults (12 to be filled at opening), an MRI-equipped brachytherapy suite, a PET/CT simulator and 160 inpatient beds, will be operational by 2023-24. TBCC includes the provincial Alberta Radiosurgery Centre and expanding programs for lung, liver and spine SBRT. In 2016, faculty provided 4521 consultations. There are close interdisciplinary working relationships with Medical, Surgical, Gynecologic, Hematologic and Psychosocial Oncology, Palliative Care, Medical Physics. Basic science faculty are appointed through the Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute at the University of Calgary. A full complement of ancillary staff and services are available. Clinical trials and translational research programs are augmented by annual, centre-specific, Investigator Initiated Trial grant competition. Inpatients are admitted under the Radiation Oncologist at the Foothills Medical Centre. Qualifications: You must have an MD degree and Canadian specialist certification in Radiation Oncology, or the equivalent. You must be eligible for appointment to the medical staff of Alberta Health Services. Preference will be given to Canadian citizens or those with permanent resident status. Compensation: Remuneration will depend on clinical experience. Compensation Grid Compensation range is between $314,781 (level 1 ) and $453,117 (level4).
