Job Description
Our client which is a leading automotiove manaufacturing company, is looking for a Quality/ Warranty Engineer who will be responsible for researching and analyzing reliability of products produced by the company. Identifies trends in product reliability and reports findings to product development teams and Senior Management. Provides central point of contact for customer reporting of field failures of company products. Work is complex in character and requires strong analytical skills and a broad knowledge of all company products. Work is performed under little or no supervision. Performs other duties in support of Quality Department goals and objectives.

Salary: $70K
Duties and Responsibilities: 
Performs warranty research in all OEM (Warranty Systems) of products manufactured by the company. Monitors performance trends, identifies specific failure modes and provides reports on trends. Provides competitive analysis for warranty sharing agreements
Serves as focal point for incoming calls and WS reports of product defects from OEM automotive dealerships. Identifies cause of failures and determines appropriateness of warranty part replacement. Alerts task team of failure and initiates immediate shipment of replacement part. Works closely with customer to assure customer satisfaction. Coordinates return of failed part from customer, and forwards part to Advanced Engineering for failure analysis
Maintains tracking system of warranty replacement parts. Provides task teams and OEM with failure reports
Serves as primary analyst OEM warranty system. Checks system daily and enters part timing and recovery plans as provided by the program teams. Ensures that team is aware of timing requirements and that status is entered into the system in a timely manner
Gathers and distributes data for monthly quality and warranty reports. Maintains historical records of quality reports and provides delivery quality data to Customer Service.
Performs other duties in support of Business Unit goals and objectives
Ensure LPA activities are conducted in accordance with CQI-8 requirements; monitor and close LPA open issues
Education and Experience: 
Possess a University or College Technical Background or equivalent
Previous experience and training in statistical methods and measurement systems
Previous working experience with control plans and PFMEAs and PPAPs
Knowledge of DG@T, IATF16949 & ISO14001 operating procedures
Computer knowledge in Excel, Word, etc.
Previous experience as a Warranty Engineer in the automotive industry
Excellent interpersonal skills – dealing with customers and other departments
Ability to read, write and speak English
Ability to interact with employees in a multicultural environment
