Reporting to the Director Quality Assurance, the QACIS will be responsible for facilitating and leading continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety and product quality; all within a fast-paced, high-growth food manufacturing environment. Primary ResponsibilitiesAs part of the QA team, work on multiple continuous improvement projects related to food safety, product quality Analyze information, develop and measure standard metrics, diagram the flow of processes and identify opportunities for improvementWith the team, you will develop project plans for implementing improvements and monitoring newly implemented processesAssist in all testing of new equipment, methods and or productsApply analysis to improve process control and capability for critical to quality processesAssist in development of proceduresCreate an environment which continues to foster continuous improvement and lean manufacturingEnsure that a safe working environment is maintained at all times by enforcing company standards and following up on regular inspectionsCollaborate will all manufacturing sites to implement change initiativesWork independently with minimal supervision.Perform other tasks as required.Required ExperienceUniversity or College degree in a related field such as food science, operations management, engineering or equivalent in experience.3-5 years in food manufacturingProven Track record in process improvement projectsKnowledge of Root Cause Analysis and Risk AssessmentRecognized training in continuous improvement tools and methods such as Lean Six SigmaMust possess excellent analytical skills and strong project management skillsFlexible to work different work schedules when neededExcellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are requiredMust have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and MinitabMust be flexible, high energy and passionate in getting things doneCore CompetenciesCustomer and Product Centricity – Responds to the needs of both internal and external customers in a timely and courteous manner, showing a sense of urgency; always keeping our products front and centre.Flexibility, Agility, Adaptability – Adapts to changes; changes strategy in response to new information; responds appropriately and quickly without having all parameters defined; demonstrate tolerance for speed and uncertainty.Team Work and Collaboration – Uses appropriate interpersonal styles and methods of communication to gain agreement or acceptance of a plan or activity.
