We currently have an opportunity for a Temporary Full Time Prosthetic Resident
in the Sunnybrook Centre for Independent Living (SCIL).
Summary of Duties:
Assist in daily operation of SCIL prosthetic services. Responsibilities include clinical and technical support, providing excellent customer service and supporting administrative processes which include but are not limited to:
Participate in amputee clinics and carry out any of its affiliated duties.
Cast, measure and fit prosthesis under the guidance of a certified prosthetist.
Cross training in technical area that includes manufacture of all types of prosthetic devices, solve technical problems and act as a liaison between the technical and clinical staff.
Provide support for the certified prosthetist and assist in all the duties pertaining to patient care.
Administrative duties that include proper health care documentation and record keeping, scheduling, and prosthetic cost estimates.
Must have successfully completed a clinical Prosthetics & Orthotics school program recognized by Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC)
Must be eligible to write the Canadian prosthetic certification exam.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong time management and organization skills.
Able to work efficiently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Able to effectively problem-solve clinical and technical issues
