Our client, a leading food manufacturing company is hiring a plant manager with food processing industry experience to join their London location.
Location: London, ON
Reports to: VP, Operations

Salary: Up to $130K/annually (base on experience)
Reporting to a respective VP, Operations, the Plant Manager II is responsible for driving and managing all manufacturing and order fulfillment activities at a larger scale plant facility or a plant requiring specific expertise while maintaining continuous and efficient production in required quality and quantity. Develop and lead the Plant Team in achieving or exceeding key performance indicators for safety, legality, regulatory compliance, environment, quality, customer service, and cost.
Strategically manage capacity to meet business demands and broader operations goals beyond specific plant location. Accountable for product yield, labour efficiency and overhead expenses.
Provide VP Operations with leadership support to address focused plant strategic objectives such as overseeing the largest plant locations, leading a plant turnaround or greenfield operation, or leading national Operations initiatives with complex managerial challenges.
Foster a safe working environment through the development of strategies focused on accident reduction as well as energy and waste minimization. Ensure compliance to all OHS and environmental regulatory and corporate standards. Investigate and identify root causes of any non-compliance and manage development of preventative measures.
Oversee effective application of QA programs and processes to ensure required product quality. Ensure programs and processes are current, functional and comply with company standards and government regulations.
Continually develop the capability and skill set of the organization to achieve business results. Manage performance and development plans, providing consistent feedback through performance discussions.
Foster an environment that supports the key company values and beliefs.
Through influence and motivating others ensure effective communication throughout the organization.
Foster a harmonious labour relations environment through promoting team spirit and building positive relationship with the Stewards and the Union representatives, and where applicable manage significant union issues
Oversee effective deployment of human resources throughout the plant and ensure the correct administration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Related Post Secondary Degree coupled with a minimum of 10 years plant or technical management experience preferably within the Food Processing industry.
Diverse, cumulative knowledge acquired through comprehensive related experience, preferably overseeing 1 to 2 previous plant operations.
Demonstrated people management and development capability and proven success in leading and inspiring teams to excel.
Experience with continuous improvement principles and programs, including engagement in and implementation of these initiatives.
Knowledge and/or experience in Continuous Improvement an asset.
Well-developed communication skill and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Critical thinker with the ability to apply practices, develop and initiate action plans to meet deadlines and achieve results while respecting core corporate values.
Strong business acumen coupled with an ability to translate business strategy into practical application.
Collaborative leadership qualities with the ability to solicit advice from their team and the ability to take charge, show initiative and make sound business decisions.
Ability to manage a 24/7 operation.
