Plant Maintenance Manager
Our client is continuing to pursue excellence in their manufacturing practices and requires a Maintenance Manager to provide the plant maintenance function and lead a team of 15.
The Maintenance Manager will support plant facilities and equipment maintenance to produce quality products and meet customer expectation in an efficient, timely and profitable manner.
He/she will be responsible from the initial plan and direct daily operations and oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery.
Union experience is preferred.
He/she will conduct monthly, quarterly reviews and train team leaders to develop and implement their area of responsibility, maintain overall coordination of all departmental developments, and verify target dates and goals are meeting expectations with tangible results in bottom line and encouragment of employee motivation to strive for excellence.
Develop and/or maintain an effective preventive maintenance program
in order to improve production efficiency and ensure optimum machine time
Review plant production equipment environment in order to recommend
Record and analyze plant equipment performance data using design and
performance specifications in order to ensure optimum machine
Conduct formal training.
Maintain collaborative relationship with all other departments.
Remain aware and trained on all technical advancements in the area of responsibility.
Assist and support Mechanics, millwrights and electricians with expertise in equipment.
Ensure that equipment is maintained and operational up to company standards.
Proactively improve process functioning (continuous improvement) and strive for enhanced levels of efficiency
Engineering degree preferred or diploma in relevant area with 5-7years of experience
4+ years previous maintenance supervisory or management experience in a related industry.
Prior experience with project management.
Strong experience with computerized maintenance management systems
Must have experience working in manufacturing with plastics experience preferred
Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred.
Good computer skills
Experience coaching, training, and giving feedback to staff
