The primary responsibility of a Payroll Lead is to collect, verify, and process all information related to the administration of employee payroll. The Payroll Lead will also provide general administrative support.Responsibilities:Maintains attendance, regular time, overtime, and leave records in order to calculate pay and benefits entitlements for our partner companies in Canada and the United StatesEnters time sheets into computerized system and calculates safety bonuses and other special payments or bonusesEnters, maintains, and audits employee changes to ensure payroll calculations are accurateResponds to the overall payroll activitiesUnderstanding and compliance of relevant provincial and state taxes.Investigate; trouble shoot and problem solve end user questions and issuesReconciles payroll to ensure total hours are reconciled to total expected hoursEnsures employee time is entered according to the collective agreement.Qualifications: A minimum of three years’ experience in a lead payroll positionPayroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) preferred, but not required with proper experienceExperience with CMIC is an assetExperience and knowledge of Union Agreements and how they relate to jobs and employees is an assetHigh attention to detail and accuracyExperience in MS Office programsAble to maintain internal controlsAbility to manage prioritiesManages relationships with internal and external partners.Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experienceBenefitsCompany paid RRSP ContributionsJVD University and other training opportunitiesExcellent work/life balance.Our Commitment to SafetyThe only thing more impressive than our commitment to safety is our results.
