We currently have an opportunity for a Regular Part-Time (0.2 FTE) Patient Administrative Associate in the Nursing Departments located at the Holland Orthopaedic and Arthritic Centre in downtown Toronto.
Summary of Duties
Responsible for providing administrative, clerical and secretarial support to the nursing units by:
Assisting in coordinating nursing unit activities;
Coordinating patient admission/discharge/transfer;
Liaising with both internal and external customers;
Responding to telephone and reception inquires for both internal and external customers;
Assumes other responsibilities and duties as required.
Successful completion of secondary school required
Post-secondary business/secretarial courses;
Successful completion of SHSC PAA training
Computer/typing skills including Windows and MS Word are required;
Keyboarding at 40w.p.m. or 106 kpm
Minimum two years’ experience in a busy Nursing Unit preferably in a hospital/health care environment;
Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment with flexibility and diplomacy while providing excellent customer service;
People person with strong verbal & written communication skills and customer focused with attention to details;
Good inter-personal skills and ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals;
Excellent organizational skills.
