Regular duties will include:Knowledge & InsightTravel regularly to Fountain Tire markets for assigned category to learn about customers, competitors, products, and to interact with stores, sales team members, and customers (min. 6 times per year)Conduct regular competitive analysis and acquire benchmark pricing information to support marketing efforts within assigned category.Understand customer expectations via research, both quantitative and qualitative.Participate in industry events (e.g. trade shows) and associations.Travel to various meetings and conferences as required.Daily CommunicationResponsible for thorough and swift response to inquiries and requests from field associates (daily turnaround expected).Proactively interact with mixed service stores to ensure they have the support they need to acquire and service accounts.Support stores and corporate sales team with their customer proposals.Assist stores with warranty claims and adjustment processes for the assigned categories.Work collaboratively with the Fountain Tire Supply team to inform them of the market needs of customers and their vehicles and equipment.Communicate all relevant category information and programs accurately and in a timely fashion to appropriate personnel, including field associates and Operations team members. Monitor and provide input on all communication instruments related to the product category (e.g. corporate website, Intranet, external publications, advertising, etc.).ProcurementAssist Fountain Tire Supply with the procurement of product when there are challenges with the regular assortment.Planning & Portfolio ManagementAssist with product portfolio management (product screen, product gaps, additions and deletions). Contribute to unit forecasting and inventory management effectiveness.Assist with vendor relations and negotiations within the assigned product category. Document vendor programs, product offerings, pricing, incentives, payment terms, etc. Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.Participate in all safety initiatives as required or assigned to guarantee safety at Fountain Tire.The necessary experience, knowledge, skills and abilities required in the role:Strong product knowledge or experience in industry segment is necessary. 5 years of experience with Specialty Tire categories (OTR, Agriculture, Specialized Applications).High School Diploma or College/University graduate.Strong knowledge of product in assigned product category(s).Working knowledge of marketing concepts with an emphasis on Product Management, Promotion, & Pricing.Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members and suppliers.Exceptional organization and time management skills to be able to handle multiple daily priorities at a fast pace.Good communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.Basic computer and reporting skills with basic knowledge in Microsoft Office programs.Ability to accommodate average annual travel of 35% or more.Interested and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply on-line.
