Position: Occupational Therapist – Mental Health (2 positions)

Status: Permanent Full-Time/Temporary Full-Time
Altum Health is a department within the University Health Network with over 250 employees across 13 regional sites (Toronto, Cambridge, Barrie, Hamilton(2), Sudbury, Ottawa, Ajax, Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Scarborough and Vaughan). We offer a full continuum of prevention, rehabilitation, and health care services to third party payors and individuals, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), employers, and insurers.
We are currently seeking OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS with knowledge and expertise in the area of mental health and addictions looking to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team in an outpatient setting. The successful candidate must have the ability to travel between multiple locations and be comfortable with the delivery of services via information and communication technology (telehealth/telemedicine).
Two (2) years practical and related experience in the assessment and treatment of mental health and/or addictions conditions
Crisis intervention management experience required
Proven knowledge of the mental health/addictions continuum of care required
Proven ability to utilize a wide range of accepted treatment modalities within the identified treatment populations (mild-moderate mental health/addictions)
Experience with chronic pain population (an asset)
Experience in or demonstrated understanding of third party insurance payor system(s)
Effective coordination and linkages with community based services and supports
Experience working in a multi/interdisciplinary team setting and proven ability to work well within a team in person and remotely through technology supports
Excellent time management, organizational and report writing skills
Exercises initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills
Use of telehealth for service delivery (an asset)
Fluency in a second language (an asset)
Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy with at least 2 years related experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy with at least 5 years related experience
Registration in good standing with the College Occupational Therapists of Ontario
Adequate professional liability insurance as required by the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
Certification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Certification, training and/or experience in crisis management and intervention
