We currently have an opportunty for a Casual Occupational Therapist in our Oncology -C2 unit located at the Bayview Campus.
Summary of Duties:
We have a casual opportunity for an Occupational Therapist in an acute care, Oncology Program: You will be responsible for patient assessment and intervention, including therapeutic care plan recommendations for discharge planning. The patient population includes Medical, and Radiation Oncology patients. You will collaborate with patients, families and interprofessional team members to identify and support the patient’s occupational goals of care and to facilitate a safe, effective and person-centred discharge from the hospital. You will act as an occupational therapy expert resource for staff, students, and other healthcare providers. You are expected to maintain and upgrade your knowledge and skills through continuing education and professional development. You will engage in knowledge translation through evidence-based practice and implementing best practices. You will practice in accordance with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario Standards for Practice and hospital policies. You will participate in profession-specific activities of Occupational Therapy, and student education activities in support of Sunnybrook’s full affiliation with the University of Toronto.
Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario required
Membership in CAOT, OSOT preferred
Oncology experience preferred
Strong cognitive assessment experience required
Demonstrated ability to creatively problem-solve based on assessment findings
Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong ability to work in an interprofessional team environment to optimize the patient experience
Demonstrated ability to manage responsive behaviors and wean observers an asset
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work and contribute to an interprofessional team environment
Demonstrated commitment to Person-Centred Care approach
Ability to demonstrate reflective practice
